We went to see the temples for a few weeks in Madurai, India. India was glorious. More than any other modern place we’ve been, Indian people make art out of life. In Madurai the women braid heavily fragrant white blooms into their hair every day. You can buy ropes of the fresh flowers outside of the temples to leave as offerings. I used to be able to buy them at the Indian grocery store in Qatar, too. I bought this little quilt in a market, there, beside the nest of temples in Madurai.
