This is the most visited national park in the United States.  It was created by a bunch of local people who loved the place, and were worried about the unsanctioned clearcutting of the forest that was happening, so they raised their own money, and were then aided by a huge gift of 5 million USD from John Rockefeller.  Because of its connection to her home, singer Dolly Parton has given a lot of her time to this park.  Dollywood is right beside the park, and draws massive visitors annually to both places.  Asheville is an incredibly beautiful place with a really cool art scene. My favorite American Episcopal bishop, Porter, lives there. The dogwood blooms are exceptional on this cover, too.
