This hotel was the epitome of swank for awhile, with women insisting on wearing furs there all year round.  They even had a water plane that would fly guests in over Cape Cod Bay and Scooks Pond and run right up to the beach.  There was such a large staff that the hotel rented out all the rooms of a neighboring hotel to accommodate its workers.
