Hotel Peabody Memphis The South’s Finest Matchbook Sticker (MB65)

They’re famous for their ducks. A family friend once took me there for lunch.  I’ve seen the actual ducks at the famous Peabody! The tradition of these dear little ducks at the hotel dates back to the guy who was managing the hotel when our matchbook was made – Mr. Schutt.  He’d been hunting with friends in Arkansas and thought he’d amuse the guests by letting loose four live ducks in the hotel’s splendid indoor fountain.  It turned out not to be much of a joke since the swanky patron doted on the little birds and fell in love.  Ever since, up until today, the Hotel Peabody has living ducks inside.
